Video: Etna Volcano Erupts in Italy
This morning, February 18, the sky lit up with a spectacular eruption of Europe’s most active volcano, Mount Etna, as reported by Reuters news agency. The volcano has shown increased activity over the past few weeks. On Tuesday, operations at the nearby Catania Airport were suspended due to ash emissions.
Footage capturing the eruption forced the filming crew to continuously relocate to avoid being choked by eruptive debris and smoke. At 3,330 meters, Sicily's volcano can erupt several times a year, with the last major eruption occurring in 1992.
