Former Minister Sergo Karapetyan Has Died from COVID-19

Former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, who served from 2010 to 2016, has died from COVID-19. He had been in the intensive care unit of the Nairi Medical Center, reports Hraparak.

Previously, his lawyer Karen Batikyan had stated in an interview with us that there was positive dynamics in Karapetyan's health condition, but it remained serious due to complications from the virus.

Sergo Karapetyan was born on August 6, 1948, in the city of Artashat (Ararat Province). He graduated from the Armenian Agricultural Institute. From 1965 to 1972, he worked at the Artashat Canned Goods Factory in various positions and served as the chief engineer of the Soviet farm’s canned goods factory from 1972 to 1986. Between 1986 and 1987, he worked as the director of the Azat Integrated Systems Trout Farm. From 1987 to 1995, he was the general director of the Artashat Canned Goods Soviet Farm, and then until 2011, he held the position of president and general director of the Artashat Canned Goods Factory. During 2010-2016, he served as the Minister of Agriculture of Armenia.
