Video: Theft from a Beauty Salon. Ashtarak Police Investigate the Incident

On the morning of February 3, a resident of the village of Voskevat in the Aragatsotn region reported to the Ashtarak police that a theft had occurred at his beauty salon overnight. The perpetrator had broken a European-style window and stolen hair cutting tools, bags, 40 bottles of perfume, 50 men's watches, silver jewelry, and more.

A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident. Ashtarak police began their investigative work, which yielded results 12 days later. Thanks to the operational-search activities of the department's criminal investigators and the minors' affairs and domestic violence prevention division, a 26-year-old man was apprehended on February 15 from his home in the village of Aknashen in the Armavir region, under suspicion of theft.

Police were already aware that he was not alone in the crime, as it also involved one of the victims’ fellow villagers. The following day, the accomplice, a 27-year-old resident of Voskevat village, was also detained.

According to preliminary data, they committed the theft on the night of February 3. They sold the stolen items to unknown individuals in the capital and split the 100,000 dram they received between themselves. As part of the criminal case, a search was conducted at the trailer belonging to the Aknashen suspect as per the court's decision. Some of the stolen goods, including watches, mobile phones, bags, and other items, were found and seized. The investigation continues.
