Interventions by Incompetent People in War Management, Says Serzh Sargsyan
Interventions in the management of the war were unnecessary, inappropriate, and made by incompetent people, stated the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in an interview with ArmNews TV.
When asked whether he was referring to the Prime Minister's wife, he replied: "I have nothing to do with women. I also refer to others. In other words, the one who proclaimed herself the supreme commander-in-chief, is she competent enough to manage it herself?"
"He personally listened to and approved the notorious operation that led to the entire capitulation," Sargsyan said, referring to the 'Lala Tepi operation.'
"Each time, it was imposed to alter the course of military operations, which is unacceptable. Altering the course does not mean immediate unprepared counterattacks; to do so, you must perhaps be able to use reserve forces to capture advantageous positions, meet your retreating troops so they can replenish their sanitary, weapons, and ammunition losses, etc. With those fresh forces, you can then halt the adversary before thinking about organizing a counteroffensive operation. But no, they thought they could go and encircle the Azerbaijani units that had already penetrated, and during that time use our eye, our reserves, our best brigades, after which the commander of the defense army was deprived of any reserve forces," added Sargsyan.
"I am talking about the beginning of October. Unacceptable mistakes began at the end of September, from the first day of the war, and they continued for a long time, which is why people had the right to think that it was a treacherous war, that there was a conspiracy," he noted.
