Georg Petrosyan's Departure from the BHK Faction Shocks Colleagues, Arman Abovyan Says

The decision of MP Georg Petrosyan to leave the BHK faction has come as a surprise to his colleagues, as stated by Arman Abovyan, the secretary of the BHK faction, in an interview with "Factinfo." He noted that everyone in the BHK is astonished by Petrosyan's sudden decision.

“Everyone in the BHK is shocked as to why Georg Petrosyan abruptly decided to leave the faction, especially since the party leader, Gagik Tsarukyan, held a particularly warm and respectful attitude towards him, even in purely human relations. Gagik Tsarukyan has always singled out Mr. Petrosyan,” said Abovyan in the interview with “Factinfo,” adding, “What can I say... Mr. Petrosyan has stated that he needs to open some 'quote marks,' so let him open them, we will learn within the party what the reasons were for his decision to leave the faction.”

It is recalled that today G. Petrosyan stated that he finds it unacceptable to hesitate on making concrete steps and does not consider it appropriate for him to continue his activities within the “Prosperous Armenia” faction, noting that he will continue his parliamentary activity as an independent MP. This comes despite Petrosyan denying the rumors of leaving the faction two days ago in an interview with “Factinfo.”

“Mr. Gevorgyan has had no issues or disagreements either within the faction or with the leadership; I repeat, the relations have been very warm and brotherly,” assured Abovyan.

When asked how it is possible to leave the faction quietly and unexpectedly in the midst of allegedly brotherly and warm relations, Arman Abovyan noted that he cannot say anything and that everyone in the BHK is astonished and waiting for an explanation.

Regarding claims circulating in the media that the next MP to leave the faction will be Naira Zohrabyan, Abovyan categorically denied that there are any such discussions within the party. Asked whether it is possible for Naira Zohrabyan to make a similar unexpected decision like her former colleague, bringing surprise to the faction members, Arman Abovyan deemed it unlikely.
