"The Snake Must Be Choked in Its Nest": Why Did Aghvan Vardanyan Visit the National Assembly?

Former parliament member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) and coordinator of the group formed for the freedom of Robert Kocharyan, Aghvan Vardanyan's visit to the National Assembly has caused a real furor in parliament. For several days now, especially pro-government MPs have been actively discussing the purpose of his visit, whom he met, and how he ended up in the building.

We have already reported that the pass was arranged by Hrant Madatyan from the Prosperous Armenia Party. As for the actual purpose of the visit, Vardanyan has responded to inquiries, saying, "The snake must be choked in its nest...". It is not surprising that the My Step faction members were trying to guess what "Kocharyan’s man" was doing in the National Assembly. They were particularly alarmed by his interviews given in the corridors of the parliament.

Vardanyan was also hosted by the Bright Armenia Party, which caught Edmon Marukyan off guard. When asked what they discussed, the Bright Armenia representatives stated, "Not much. We offered him coffee, but he declined, saying he came to parliament and decided to visit us as well." This information is reported by the 'Haykakan Zhamanak' newspaper.
