VIDEO: Six residents of Goris community charged with kidnapping 22-year-old girl
The investigation by the Siunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee has clarified several circumstances surrounding the kidnapping of a 22-year-old girl.
According to the information provided by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the RA Investigative Committee, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 30-year-old resident of the Goris community, in collusion with his brother, his uncle’s son, and two friends, planned to abduct a 22-year-old resident of Goris city for the purpose of marriage. On January 13, 2021, around 09:30, after learning that the girl was heading to the central part of the city, they went to the vicinity of the "Zara" store on G. Ashot street to wait for her arrival.
During this time, another resident born in 1990 joined them, who arrived in a "Lexus" vehicle, and the group waited at the specified location. Around 10:15, the boys noticed the 22-year-old girl and, against her will and using violence, openly kidnapped her, transporting her in the "Infiniti" vehicle driven by the brother of the 30-year-old man to the village of Hayanist in the Ararat region.
Based on sufficient evidence collected, the 30-year-old resident of Goris and four accomplices have been charged under the first point of the second part of Article 131 of the RA Criminal Code (kidnapping a person), while the resident born in 1990 has been charged under the first point of the second part of Article 38-131 of the RA Criminal Code (aiding in kidnapping).
Necessary investigative and other procedural actions have been carried out, including inspections of the crime scene and the vehicles involved. The 22-year-old girl has been recognized as the victim and has been interrogated. Forensic examinations have been appointed. An order has been given to the investigative body. The preliminary investigation continues.
