Video: Illegal Weapons and Ammunition Discovered in Yeghigis Village

On February 5, thanks to the professional efforts of the Yeghagnadzor division of the police, illegal weapons and ammunition were seized in Yeghigis Village.

Information was received on February 4 that a 56-year-old resident of Yeghigis had illegally transported weapons and ammunition from the Republic of Artsakh to Armenia and was storing them in the village. On the same day, at 23:00, the suspect was invited to the division.

Through explanatory work, he presented a "RGD-5" grenade with a fuse, a folding knife, a bag for submachine gun magazines, a submachine gun magazine, an "IZH" type double-barreled smoothbore hunting rifle, a bulletproof vest, a helmet, and 60 rounds of 7.62 mm submachine gun ammunition from their private home.

According to the 56-year-old man, the weapons and ammunition were acquired while participating in the military operations in the regions of Jraghats and Hadrut between September 27 and November 10, 2020.

A forensic examination has been appointed, and materials are being prepared regarding the case.
