Video: Taxi Driver Steals 20,000 Drams from Passenger and Escapes
On January 11, at around 11 AM, a report about a robbery was received at the New Nork police station from the Avan division. A woman living in Ashtarak contacted the police and reported that a taxi driver had stolen money from her. From the conversation with the victim, it became clear that the man took 20,000 drams, which is change, but openly stole the money and fled.
Avan criminal investigators took measures to identify and locate the individual who committed the robbery, which yielded results hours after the incident. Soon, the identity of the suspect became known. Police found the 41-year-old man, a resident of Ejmiadzin, around 9 PM on the same day and took him into custody from Davit Anhaghti Street. He has provided a confession. The circumstances of the case are being clarified through investigation.
