Wall of Abandoned School in Gegharkunik's Artanish Community Collapses Due to Earthquake

Today, following an earthquake, the wall of an abandoned school in Gegharkunik's Artanish community has collapsed. As of 23:00, there have been no reports of other damage or injuries within the territory of Armenia.

On February 5th of this year, at 19:36 local time (15:36 GMT), a 4.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded by the seismic protection regional service of Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations at geographical coordinates of 40.53° latitude and 45.32° longitude, 5 km northeast of the village of Shorja, at a depth of 10 km. The strength of the tremors in the epicentral zone reached 6-7 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake was felt in Gegharkunik province with a strength of 5-6, and in many communities of Kotayk, Tavush, Lori, and Ararat provinces with a strength of 4-6. In Yerevan, it was felt at a strength of 3-4.
