Resolve the Yellow Vests Issue in Paris: Erdogan States the West Should Not Interfere in Turkey's Internal Affairs

The United States and European countries should not interfere in Turkey's internal affairs. The West would be better off focusing on its own problems, such as instances of racism in the U.S. and the violence against members of the 'Yellow Vests' movement in France.

This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan while commenting on the reactions from foreign countries regarding the events at one of Istanbul's universities, according to the Anadolu Agency.

'The U.S. criticizes the events occurring at Istanbul University. And this is coming from a country where police kill unarmed African Americans. You better hold yourselves accountable for racism. The same goes for Emmanuel Macron. Resolve the Yellow Vests issue in Paris. We will not allow young people to participate in criminal activities, including terrorism,' Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader then condemned French President Macron's call to withdraw Turkish military experts from Libya. 'Macron has learned nothing. Turkey did not send soldiers to Libya for no reason. Turkey's military presence in any region is an investment in peace and stability. It is the authorities of the African country that have invited us to Libya,' Erdogan noted. At the same time, the Turkish president accused France of 'occupying' Mali.
