32-Year-Old Man Arrested for Armed Robbery at Bank
On February 5, 2021, around 4:30 PM, the police department of Arabkir in Armenia received a report that an unidentified individual had entered a branch of a bank in Yerevan armed and committed armed robbery. However, the assailant was neutralized by the bank's security staff.
According to preliminary data, the individual who entered the bank branch and committed the robbery stole a significant amount of money totaling 5,665,233 AMD.
A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative division of the Arabkir administrative district of the Yerevan investigative committee under Article 175 (robbery) of the Armenian Criminal Code. The investigation has been assigned to a dedicated investigative team.
During the pre-investigation, necessary investigative and procedural actions have been carried out, including an inspection of the crime scene. As a result of operational-search measures, the identity of the individual who committed the crime was established, and it turned out he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1988. He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been interrogated.
The commemorative gun used as a weapon and the stolen money have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the case and to ensure an objective, complete, and comprehensive investigation.
Notice: The suspect in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
