Bad News for You: It Hasn't Finished and Won't Finish Until the People Straighten Their Backs, Abovyan to Simonian
The Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Arman Abovyan, responded to the speech of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, during a special parliamentary session.
“He went to the podium, leaned towards the opposition, and said, ‘It’s over, it’s over, what are you continuing for?’ Bad news for you: it hasn't finished and it won’t finish until the people straighten their backs. What is this conclusion that it is over, I don’t understand... The issue is not political; this is not some process that has ended. I advise you to return to reality. And I will counter your expression in Russian: ‘nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten’,” said Abovyan.
Alen Simonian responded to the Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party: “Yes, Mr. Abovyan, ‘nothing is forgotten, nobody forgets.’ Let me tell you what has ended: it has ended that you were unable to formulate a proposal for the citizens of Armenia, that no matter how bad we are, even if we are mistaken, people think that the forces proposing today in public are worse than us. Therefore, when you speak about us doing bad things, just imagine how bad your proposals must be that after all this, you cannot present a proposal for the citizen. We have been honest with our citizens; they have chosen us, and now, yes, many of them may be disappointed because of our many mistakes. We will talk with them, they will judge us, they will bring this to the hall or they will not, but you will have no relationship with those people, just as you have had no connection in the past, you will have none in the future,” Simonian declared.
