Marukyan: No Member of the Delegation's Efforts Should Be Undervalued

According to Edmond Marukyan, the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, no one should underestimate the role of any member of the Armenian delegation in the PACE or any other delegation. Effective teamwork is essential.

Marukyan expressed this opinion at a press conference attended by members of the delegation. A journalist reminded the delegation head Ruben Rubinyan of the criticism directed at him by Karen Simonyan from the LHK, who stated that Rubinyan had failed in his efforts at PACE and that, in his opinion, the delegation would not have been able to operate effectively without the LHK representative.

Rubinyan suggested that Marukyan respond to this issue. Marukyan noted that every deputy has their own opinion. "No one should underestimate or belittle the work done by any member of the delegation. Our delegations are teams that must operate unitedly—regardless of the fact that individuals may have numerous personal problems with one another. In this regard, we have never acted like the opposition of previous times. There have been instances in the past where members of the delegation did not even travel on the same plane but bought separate tickets so they wouldn’t see each other on the flight. We are not in that lineup. I believe that teamwork is underway," said the head of the LHK.

According to Marukyan, they have also discussed issues regarding organizing urgent or ongoing debates together. Therefore, he believes that the role, significance, and contributions of any one member of the delegation should not be underestimated. Rubinyan also agreed with Marukyan.
