The Nagorno-Karabakh Issue is Not Resolved: Ara Aivazyan

There is no concrete project for clarification. This was stated today, January 28, by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan during a conversation with reporters at the "Yerablur" pantheon, addressing the topic of unblocking roads. He emphasized that no negotiations are being conducted with Turkey regarding the unblocking of roads, particularly concerning the opening of the Kars-Gyumri road.

Regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the minister said, "The Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not resolved; there remains a fundamental, key question—the clarification of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, which has also been discussed by the co-chairing countries at the level of foreign ministers." In response to a comment that the co-chairing countries do not provide any clarification regarding the timelines for determining the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, Aivazyan stated, "I am confident that you have followed the statements of the co-chairs, as well as the foreign ministers of those countries, which indicate that there are key issues that need to be addressed, and the key question remains the clarification of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh. Recently, the co-chairs had a meeting, and we will contact them soon, expecting their upcoming visit to the region. We will provide additional information regarding timelines."

As for Azerbaijan's claim that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is resolved, the Foreign Minister remarked, "Yesterday I specifically emphasized that if we are talking about stability and peace in the region, there must be a mutual understanding; the region should not have winners and losers. There is a mutual understanding that if we talk about peace, it must be dignified peace."
