The name of Manvel Grigoryan is once again being exploited to divert the public's attention from real problems. The general cannot respond to the comments directed at him, but let them not forget that at least hundreds of Manvels have been born in Artsakh. Children are named Manvel because General Manvel Grigoryan liberated their land.

This was stated by Arsen Mkrtchyan, the lawyer of Artsakh hero, General-Lieutenant Manvel Grigoryan, during a conversation with Yerkir.am, addressing the issue of the media improperly exploiting Grigoryan's name.

Recently, it was reported that Grigoryan's tomb had been desecrated. According to the lawyer, this is being done by the same person who initiated the pursuit of Manvel Grigoryan and later turned it into a show.

“The public began to make speculations when Nikol Pashinyan spoke about letters unrelated to reality in his emotional speech,” said Arsen Mkrtchyan, adding that it was later proven that the letters presented in a 2016 video prepared by the NSS were brought and placed in food produced in May 2018, left in the area belonging to Manvel Grigoryan.

“The whole problem is that all this is now proven. It was a fabricated case. When Pashinyan had a vote of confidence, he spoke, and people thought he was saying the truth. But that was the first lie, after which the lies began to follow one another—on a larger scale, in a bolder manner,” the lawyer stated.

Mkrtchyan does not consider it coincidental that the campaign against generals by the government led by Nikol Pashinyan began with the general who liberated Artsakh.

“Grigoryan was a real threat to pro-Turkish forces, don’t forget that. The horror he inspired in the enemy was also felt by the forces led by Nikol Pashinyan. These are pro-Turkish, pro-Azerbaijani forces that came with the purpose of fighting against Armenians from the very beginning,” the lawyer noted.

According to Mkrtchyan, Grigoryan understood all this from day one. “He once said, ‘This is not against me, it is against the country.’ I skeptically replied, ‘General, maybe you are exaggerating?’ He said, ‘We’ll live and see.’ In fact, we lived and saw that Manvel Grigoryan was right. They wanted to eliminate a combat general through fabricated criminal prosecution. This was the same with Seyran Ohanyan, Yuri Khachaturov, and all the heroic generals being pursued. Of course, the masterpiece has been and continues to be the criminal prosecution of Robert Kocharyan. These cases were correlated with each other,” the lawyer expressed.

He stated that a slow but planned and targeted assassination of the Armenian heroic general has been organized. “Do you really think they were unaware that they were causing death to Manvel Grigoryan by not letting him go abroad for treatment? An assessment of the actions of this government will definitely be given when powers come to lead not by foreign orders, but for the real benefit of the Armenian state,” emphasized Mkrtchyan.
