«Let Him Try»: Alen Simonyan Comments on Vazgen Manukyan's Rebellion Statement
During the war, prior to negative comments made by all of you about the declaration from November 9 to 10, there were processes directed not towards Horadiz, where battles were taking place, nor towards Baku, but towards the government building in Yerevan, aimed at seizing power. This was stated by Alen Simonyan, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, during a conversation with journalists today, January 27.
“During the war, before the negative discussions regarding the November 9 to 10 declaration, there were processes aimed not at Horadiz or the areas where battles were occurring, nor towards Baku, but rather towards the government building in Yerevan, aimed at seizing power. Naturally, one could assume that this process has favored many political factions, and elements from the former authorities were waiting to capitalize on everything that could result from this situation,” he said.
When asked how he relates to the statement made by Vazgen Manukyan, the Prime Minister candidate of the Home of the Fatherland movement, that if they do not succeed in obtaining the Prime Minister's resignation through constitutional means, they will resort to rebellion, Alen Simonyan simply replied, “Let him try.”
