Snowstorm and Black Ice: Road Conditions in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads across the territory of Armenia. The roads leading from the "Amberd" high-mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Kiar Lake in the Aragatsotn Province are closed, while the Vardenyats Pass is only closed for trucks with trailers.

The Goris-Tatev road in Syunik Province is open but affected by a snowstorm. Road clearing and treatment works are being carried out. In the Aragatsotn Province, there is black ice in some sections of the Aparan-Aragats, Vayots Dzor, and Shirak Province roads.
