Heads of State Institutions Under the Ministry of Environment Summarize 2020

Today, a unique meeting took place with the Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan. This was reported by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.

The heads of state institutions under the ministry summarized the year 2020 through reports, presenting the achievements of the year, the work accomplished, the issues identified, and discussed the key priorities set for 2021.

Participants included Deputy Ministers A. Mazmanyan, T. Simonyan, Secretary General G. Gulyan, director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center L. Azizyan, director of Sevan National Park A. Khloyan, director of Dilijan National Park A. Poghosyan, director of Khosrov Forest National Park V. Jilavyan, director of the Protected Areas Complex P. Poghosyan, deputy director of the Environmental Impact Assessment Center G. Gevorgyan, director of the Armenian Nature Museum G. Ghazaryan, director of Arpi Lake National Park M. Muradyan, director of the Zangezur Biosphere Complex A. Mkrtchyan, and director of the Environmental Programs Center M. Khachatryan, among others.

Before the presentations, Minister Romanos Petrosyan delivered a welcoming speech and informed his colleagues that such meetings should become a tradition, taking place at least bi-annually to summarize the work done, present main directions, and to utilize this informal platform to enhance environmental management and set new efficiency benchmarks in the sector.
