FFA Suspends Membership of Six Federation Members; Unwanted Individuals Identified

Today, a regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) took place. According to the official website of the FFA, 13 out of the 15 committee members were present.

The first issue discussed was the request to convene an extraordinary meeting by 9 members of the FFA (Ararat FC, Ararat-Armenia FC, DFU FC, Dovekh FC, Erebuni SA, Erebuni-Dilijan MA, Armenian Football Veterans and Youth Players Solidarity, Sevan FC, Vanadzor Football Academy). As a result of the discussion, the Executive Committee voted 12 in favor (Hrachik Aghabekyan, Gagik Aghbalyan, Kim Arakelyan, Anna Tadevosyan, Hasmik Gharibyan, Hirach Yagan, Armen Melikbekyan, Aren Mkrtchyan, Bagrat Navoyan, Armen Nikoghosyan, Karen Shaboyan, Arthur Sahakyan) to 1 against (Hayk Ghazazyan) and decided to reject the request to convene an extraordinary meeting.

The second item on the agenda was the suspension of membership for six members of the FFA: Dilijan FC, Erebuni-Dilijan MA, Erebuni SA, Sevan FC, Armenian Football Veterans and Youth Players Solidarity, and Dovekh FC. The bases for the suspension of all six members were presented to the committee members. Following discussions, the Executive Committee decided to suspend the membership of these six members from the FFA.

The third issue was the discussion of the proposal from the FFA Disciplinary and Ethics Committee regarding recognizing Arman Sahakyan, Ararat Harutyunyan, and Sarkis Asoyan as unwanted individuals in football. As a result of the discussion, the Executive Committee decided to postpone the decision on this matter until the next meeting, inviting the mentioned individuals to participate and express their positions at the next Executive Committee meeting.
