Armenia Ranks Second in EAEU for Decrease in Retail Trade Turnover
In Armenia, retail trade turnover at current prices, calculated using the average exchange rate of the Armenian dram against the US dollar as determined by the Central Bank of Armenia, amounted to 2.409 billion USD during January to November 2020, reflecting a 16.6% decrease compared to the same period of the previous year. This information was reported by Armenpress, citing the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
According to EEC data, the total retail trade turnover of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries for the first eleven months of the previous year reached 468.306 billion USD, which is a 4.1% decrease compared to the same months in 2019.
During this timeframe, Belarus recorded a retail trade turnover of 19.562 billion USD, marking a 2.0% increase compared to the same period last year.
For Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, the retail trade turnover was calculated at current prices using the average exchange rate against the US dollar as estimated by their respective central banks. In Kazakhstan, this figure was 24.504 billion USD with a 5.0% decrease, while Kyrgyzstan saw a turnover of 3.609 billion USD, which corresponds to a significant drop of 17.4%. Russia's retail trade turnover reached 418.221 billion USD, exhibiting a decrease of 4.1%.
