Vladimir Putin Does Not Have a Palace in Gelendzhik, Says Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov

Vladimir Putin does not have a palace in Gelendzhik, stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Rossia1. "Putin doesn’t do anything there; Putin has no palace in Gelendzhik," he said in response to the host's question about whether Putin has a palace in Gelendzhik and what he does there.

Peskov added that the Kremlin was aware long ago about the preparations for the so-called “exposures” and information attacks. "Their aim is to create turmoil in the situation. These reports are not true; they are pure lies, and everyone who looks at that material should switch on their brains and ask themselves—what does Putin have to do with this?"

He continued, “Alright, let’s say there is such a palace. Everyone in Gelendzhik is saying that there is indeed a huge facility and so on. But they have their own owners; these are private properties. And, probably, business people, if they operate within the law, have the right to own any property. But what does the president have to do with this?”

Peskov described such artificial tricks and fabrications as part of information attacks. He also questioned the dubious nature of the information, noting that the initial material was likely in English—why?

It is noteworthy that Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who was arrested immediately after returning to his homeland, published a film titled “Palace for Putin: The Biggest Bribe Story” on his YouTube channel, which has already garnered around 79 million views.
