Jalal Harutyunyan Claims Azerbaijan Could Not Have Known His Movements Independently
The former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Jalal Harutyunyan, was recently interrogated by the Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee regarding a death penalty charge against him. According to information from the Mediaport Telegram channel, the former commander refused to answer the question of whom he suspects, expressing surprise that he hasn’t yet been found.
He asserted that the coordinates of his movements, including where he was and what vehicle he was using, could not have been known by the Azerbaijani forces independently.
Earlier reports in the Armenian media indicated that an explosion involving Jalal Harutyunyan's vehicle followed a sharp argument he had with David Tonoyan, which was related to malfunctions of air defense systems imported from Jordan that had not fired. According to sources, there is a theory that there was a leak about Jalal Harutyunyan’s movement direction through an open channel, which enabled the Azerbaijani armed forces to easily locate the commander’s position.
