Gagik Jhangiryan and David Khachatryan Elected as Members of the Supreme Judicial Council
The Supreme Judicial Council has two new members. Members of the National Assembly voted in favor of the two candidates proposed by the ‘My Step’ faction: former military prosecutor Gagik Jhangiryan and David Khachatryan, the brother of the head of the National Security Service.
It is worth noting that the voting was conducted in a closed session. As promised, the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ and ‘Prosperous Armenia’ parties did not participate in the voting.
Prior to the vote, both candidates answered questions from the deputies that were of concern to them. The opposition parties were also absent from the question-and-answer session.
