No Territory from Syunik Has Been Given Up, Says Nikol Pashinyan
The accusations directed at us are often contradictory and neutralizing. In one instance, we are accused of giving up territories, while in another, we are blamed for not giving up territories to avoid certain events,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated from the podium of the National Assembly.
“The decisions made were aimed at preventing a new military escalation, including in Syunik, and ensuring the security of Syunik. In my televised address, I also mentioned that there was a situation where military escalation could occur, which would transition into the territory of Syunik itself,” the Prime Minister added.
He noted that there is a lot of noise about territory being ceded from Syunik, but he firmly asserted that “no territory, not a single millimeter, has been given up from Syunik.”
“The territory of Syunik that exists today is recorded in the Republic of Armenia's law on territorial division from 2010,” Pashinyan announced.
