Murder in Ashtarak: Body of 19-Year-Old Transferred to Hospital

A murder occurred today in the Aragatsotn region. At approximately 1:50 PM, a call was received by the Ashtarak police department from the "Ashtarak" medical center, reporting that the body of a young man had been transferred to them in a deceased state, according to shamshyan.com.

According to the website, a rapid response group from the Ashtarak police department, led by Chief Ruben Nersisyan, was dispatched to the hospital. A team from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Aragatsotn regional investigative department, headed by Senior Investigator Mkrtich Stepanyan, also arrived at the scene.

Police and investigators have determined that the deceased was 19-year-old Armen Sargsyan, a resident of the village of Sasunik in the Aragatsotn region. According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic expert, there are several marks on his body resulting from strikes of a sharp, cutting-piercing object. Police and investigators have also established that the fatal knife wounds were inflicted on him in the vicinity of Mykoyan Brothers Street, number 33 in Ashtarak.
