India to Purchase MiG-29 from Russia
India plans to purchase 21 units of MiG-29 and 12 Su-30MKI from Russia, as well as carry out modernization of fourth-generation fighter models currently in New Delhi with Moscow's assistance, reports The Times of India.
The publication, citing its own sources, states that the Indian side is expected to send a relevant inquiry to Rosoboronexport in the near future. According to the report, the acquisition of new fighter jets will allow India to compensate for its losses in combat aircraft.
