Snow Falls in the Sahara
Snow has fallen in the Sahara Desert as temperatures have dropped. Photographer Karim Bouchetatain has shared images of this unusual natural phenomenon on Instagram.
Typically, the average temperature in the world's largest desert in January exceeds 20 degrees Celsius, but it is currently below zero. He captured the snow-covered desert near the city of Ain Sefra in Algeria, as well as camels and sheep in the northwestern Tabuk region of Saudi Arabia.
Snow has also fallen in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.
