Road Closures in Armenia; Stepanavan-Lars Road Closed

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Lake Kari are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for all vehicles due to black ice. Portions of the Aparan-Kuchak road in the Aragatsotn region have areas of black ice. In the Syunik region, in the city of Sisian and the section known as Saravan-"Zanger", there is snow on the ground.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepanavan-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles due to the risk of avalanches. Additionally, there are 450 freight trucks accumulated on the Russian side.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transportation. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively when traveling.
