Return of Prisoners and Other Topics: Ayvazyan and Lavrov Held a Phone Conversation

On January 18, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Following recent phone discussions, the foreign ministers addressed issues related to establishing stability and ensuring security in the region.

In the context of the implementation of the trilateral statements of November 9 and January 11, Minister Ayvazyan once again emphasized the priority of the full realization of humanitarian issues, primarily the immediate and safe return of prisoners of war, hostages, and other detained individuals.

Minister Ayvazyan drew his interlocutor’s attention to the importance of preserving Armenian religious and cultural heritage in the areas that fell under Azerbaijani control, along with the uninterrupted involvement of international professional organizations in this process.

The parties also exchanged views on the Armenian-Russian agenda in bilateral and multilateral formats.
