Another Russian Vaccine Against Coronavirus is Being Developed in Spray Form, Showing Positive Results in Trials
A coronavirus vaccine being developed by a research institute affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Health in Saint Petersburg has demonstrated a level of safety and the potential for antibody formation during preclinical trials.
According to TASS, citing the institute, the preclinical studies of the new vaccine against COVID-19 are ongoing. The institute's statement noted, “Currently, good data have been obtained regarding the vaccine's safety and immunogenic activity.”
Previously, the research institute reported that its specialists are working on a new vaccine based on the influenza virus. The vaccine is expected to be administered in the form of drops or a nasal spray. Toxicological studies of the vaccine are planned to be conducted soon.
