We Are Concerned About Azerbaijan's Violations of Key Provisions, Says Foreign Minister

Armenia, as a party to the trilateral statement, is deeply concerned about Azerbaijan's ongoing violations of key provisions. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan during a meeting with members of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations.

“The last serious violation of the ceasefire occurred yesterday, resulting in one injured soldier. We share the statements made by the Artsakh Defense Army and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemning Azerbaijan’s provocative actions,” said the minister.

Aivazyan noted that the Azerbaijani side is particularly violating the 1st and 8th points of the trilateral statement from November 9, 2020, according to which the parties must remain in their positions, cease fire, and return captives. He mentioned specific instances of these violations, such as the attack in the Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd directions in the Hadrut region, during which 64 soldiers were captured.

The Foreign Minister also addressed the historical and cultural monuments that have come under Azerbaijani control, stating that steps must be taken to preserve them. However, according to the minister, any efforts by the international community regarding the preservation of cultural structures have thus far faced resistance from Azerbaijan.
