David Babayan: The third ceasefire will be restored by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries with much harsher and different methods
During a press conference at the Artsakh Information Center, David Babayan, an advisor to the President of Artsakh, stated that Artsakh is steadfast and resilient regardless of the circumstances. “This is indeed a crucial moment; we will stand till the end, let no one have any doubts. We will protect and save our homeland and our people,” said the presidential advisor.
The agreement on the second humanitarian ceasefire was primarily for the exchange of bodies and captives. According to Babayan, an extreme epidemic situation has developed in certain areas: “There are so many corpses of Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist forces that, naturally, other processes are starting, and there is a serious sanitary problem.”
Babayan positively evaluates the efforts of the international community aimed at restoring the ceasefire and stopping the war. “I believe that if this time the adversary does not respect the efforts of the international community and once again invalidates the ceasefire regime, then the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries will restore the ceasefire in a much harsher and completely different manner the third time. I don’t think some countries will tolerate this kind of behavior for the third time,” he stated.
Babayan also noted that the ceasefire is indefinite, despite statements from certain Azerbaijani officials that it is only for the exchange of bodies and captives.
