Iran Announces Willingness to Resume Arms Trade with Partners

The spokesperson for Iran's mission to the UN, Alireza Miryousefi, has declared Iran's readiness to resume arms trading immediately after the lifting of relevant embargoes against Tehran, as reported by Tasnim.

"Iran has many friends, trade partners, and a reliable domestic arms industry that meets the defensive requirements against external aggression," he stated to Newsweek.

"According to the timeline mentioned in Resolution 2231, Iran will be free from restrictions on arms supplies on October 18. Naturally, starting from this date, we will initiate trade in this area based on our national interests with other countries," the Iranian representative added.

"It is more than evident that the UN and the overwhelming majority of its member states reject the so-called maximum pressure policy imposed on Iran by the United States," he stated, noting that the US attempts to "continue violating the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), as well as UN Resolution 2231, have brought the country to 'isolation.'"
