Lavrov Held Phone Calls with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan
On October 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone call with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, as reported on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussion centered on the situation prevailing in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Lavrov emphasized the continuing relevance of the joint declaration made by the Presidents of Russia, the USA, and France on October 1 of this year concerning Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the conversation, the necessity of strictly adhering to the provisions of the Moscow declaration made by the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Armenia on October 10, which calls for a ceasefire for humanitarian purposes, was highlighted.
The importance of beginning substantive negotiations aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution based on fundamental principles under the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs was reaffirmed.
