Under Stalin, 95% Ethnically Armenian Artsakh Handed to Azerbaijan, Baroness Cox Tells UK Azerbaijan Ambassador
Baroness Caroline Cox, a member of the House of Lords in Great Britain, has sent an open letter to the Azerbaijani authorities and the diplomatic corps. Responding to anti-Armenian initiatives by Azerbaijan's ambassador to the UK, Tahir Taghizadeh, the baroness addressed the history of Artsakh, noting that during Stalin's era, 95% of the Armenian-populated Artsakh was handed over to Azerbaijan, which then appropriated the Armenian territory, separating it from Armenia. This was reported by 1lurer.am.
Furthermore, the British politician emphasized that the Artsakh war was triggered by Azerbaijan's ethnic cleansing of Armenians, as there were attempts to forcibly displace and massacre the Armenian population from their historical land.
Baroness Cox also spoke about Nakhichevan as Armenian territory that has been ethnically cleansed due to Azerbaijani policies.
