Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office Issues International Arrest Warrant for Two Armenian Officers

The Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office has issued an international arrest warrant for two Armenian officers. This was reported by Azerbaijani media, citing the country’s General Prosecutor's Office. It is noted that these officers allegedly organized a diversionary attack.

Military expert Karen Hovhannisyan also noted on his Facebook page that the individuals in question are Vardanian Vazgen Bakshik and Jamalyan Armen Gneli. Hovhannisyan specifically wrote: “By torturing Armenian soldier Gurgen Alaverdi who was lost and found in Azerbaijani territory on August 23, Azerbaijan is trying to portray the Armenian side as carrying out terrorist activities. The articles under which the arrest warrants are issued include charges of terrorism. Azerbaijan is following in the footsteps of its older brother, Turkey. It is attempting to accuse its adversaries of terrorism in order to gain the green light from external forces. Issuing arrest warrants for these officers belongs to the realm of fantasy and represents yet another destructive step by Azerbaijan.”

It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan constantly appeals to the international organization INTERPOL regarding the issuance of international arrest warrants, but the agency has consistently rejected their requests.
