Former MP Grantly Davtyan and His Son Charged
A charge has been brought against former MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Grantly Davtyan, and his son for not declaring property of particularly large value. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.
Based on materials prepared following a publication by the news outlet Hetq, sufficient evidence was collected, leading to the initiation of a criminal case in the Special Investigative Service of the Republic of Armenia. During the preliminary investigation, charges were brought against former MP H. Davtyan and his son under part 2 of Article 314.3 of the RA Criminal Code for concealing information subject to declaration, which resulted in the non-declaration of property of particularly large value.
According to the indictment, H. Davtyan, during his tenure as a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from 2018 to 2019, failed to include property, income, and information regarding related persons in his declaration submitted to the High Commission on Ethics of Senior Officials on October 1, 2018, on the date of assuming his official duties. This led to the concealment of data about properties he owned, including apartments and land plots located in the city of Vagharshapat, Ararat Province.
Furthermore, the investigation revealed that Davtyan's son, being a family member of the declaring official, did not include information regarding the acquisition of real estate and the sale of a vehicle he owned in his 2018 declaration. This, in turn, concealed property of particularly large value subject to declaration.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
