Will There Be Admission to Kindergartens or Not? Deputy Minister of Education and Science Clarifies

Regarding kindergartens, the approach will be specified soon, depending on the observance of anti-epidemic rules; it will become clear whether admissions will occur or not. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Education and Science Zhanna Andreasian in response to a journalist's question.

She recalled an earlier decision which allows children in the senior group to attend kindergarten before the start of the academic year on September 15. A decision will be made beforehand, and the public will be informed.

The Deputy Minister mentioned that if there are underloaded kindergartens that have the capacity to admit children without violating anti-epidemic rules, then it would be possible to organize admissions. However, this must be understood based on the kindergartens and the number of children involved.

It is noteworthy that according to the decree of the Prime Minister, the organization of care and education processes in preschool institutions is limited to groups of a maximum of 12 children. Kindergarten staff have already compiled and submitted a list of children who have expressed a desire to attend kindergarten, and their number is several times higher than before. This implies that if the attendance in certain kindergartens is high, they may not be able to organize admissions.
