Mask Wearing Not Mandatory for Certain Officials, According to New Decision by the Commandant

Commandant Tigran Avinyan signed a new decision today, August 28, stating that wearing masks will no longer be mandatory for the President of the Republic, the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council during protocol events, for speakers and participants directly involved in such events, with the exception of the audience, guests, journalists, and support staff who are required to wear masks.

As previously noted, it was mentioned that work meetings, discussions, and assemblies should be organized as much as possible in remote or outdoor spaces. Only in the absence of such opportunities or when it is necessary to conduct them in a hybrid format should participation be limited to a maximum of 20 persons.

This rule provides for another exception. The provision will not apply during consultations called by the Prime Minister and protocol events led by the President of the Republic, the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council.

This decision has already come into effect.
