Tragic Accident in Lori Province: 25-Year-Old Driver Dies on the Spot
On August 26, a tragic car accident occurred in Lori Province, as reported by SHAMSHYAN.com. Around 21:15, two vehicles—a Mercedes and a VAZ 21099—collided on the Vanadzor-Gyumri highway within the administrative territory of Hartagyugh village.
As a result of the crash, one person died at the scene, and the VAZ 21099 veered off the road, flipping over and landing in a field. Emergency services disconnected the vehicles from power, closed the gas tanks, and secured the area.
The police and investigative department are working to determine the identities of the deceased and the drivers involved. Several citizens who gathered at the scene reported that the deceased was R. Khachatryan, a 25-year-old resident of Lanjaghbyur village in Lori Province and the driver of the VAZ 21099. The police and investigators are confirming this information.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident under part 2 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia at the Spitak Investigation Department. By the investigator's order, the vehicles are being transported to the secure area of the Spitak police department.
