How Can We Constantly Respond to Lies Coming from Renowned Scientists? - Minister of Education and Science

This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Arayik Harutyunyan, during a live broadcast on his Facebook page regarding the organizational provisions for the start of the academic year.

And all the claims being made… we are told that we are not responding to those claims; how can we constantly respond to the lies, the falsehoods coming from the mouths of renowned scientists, who say that the term 'Armenian Highlands' has been completely removed, and in its place is the Turkish Anatolia? How can we respond to this obvious lie and deceit, saying that the subject of basic military training is being removed? How can we respond to that lie and deceit? How can we respond when they say that we have removed the Armenian word from the subject of Armenian literature? How can we respond when they lie to you that Mesrop Mashtots, Narekatsi, and Sayat Nova have been removed from the curriculum? Why do they spread that lie and deception to divert us from the agenda of reforms, to make us constantly waste time refuting, refuting, refuting... things that are nonsense, as we would say in our urban slang, foolishness?

We will regularly let them out with their foolishness, let them say their lies, and we will package our refutations and move forward. And I ask you to definitely follow official announcements, make them lie less. They are removing the military subject, they are removing the history of the Church; we have combined the history of the Church with the history of the Armenian people, thereby valuing the Church even more. We are valuing it precisely in our history. How can there be a separate history for individual institutions?

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports is doing everything possible to ensure a bright future for your children. We must take and study history, see that there are enlightening movements, and there is an enlightening movement today; the obscure-minded have raised their heads, but they must remain in darkness.
