Russia and Turkey May Jointly Produce S-400 Air Defense Systems
According to Turkish media reports, Ankara and Moscow may reach an agreement on the joint production of S-400 air defense systems. This was reported by Ermenihaber.
As is known, Russia and Turkey are preparing to sign a contract regarding the second batch of S-400 systems. However, the terms of the contract have not yet been finalized.
The Turkish side notes that, unlike the first batch, it is possible that some components may be produced in Turkey through technological transfer for the second batch. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the S-400 air defense systems will be produced with the joint participation of Russia and Turkey.
It should be reminded that the contract for the S-400s was signed between Turkey and Russia in 2017. The first batch was delivered to Turkey in July 2019. The Russo-Turkish deal created a significant crisis in Turkish-American relations.
