Felix Tsolakyan Meets with Newly Appointed Iranian Ambassador

Emergency Situations Minister Felix Tsolakyan received the newly appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, on August 25. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Felix Tsolakyan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors. The parties exchanged views on the prospects for future cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries, particularly regarding the possibility of joint rescue exercises in border areas and other avenues for collaboration.

Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri expressed gratitude for the reception, emphasizing that the historical and cultural connections between Iran and Armenia necessitate the strengthening of cooperative relations as well.

During the conversation, an agreement was reached to activate mutual meetings with representatives of sector organizations and to highlight joint projects to implement and bring to logical conclusions.

“We have numerous tasks ahead of us to further strengthen bilateral relations and create a practical field. We are always ready to respond when necessary and support our friendly neighbor Iran to the best of our abilities,” Minister Tsolakyan noted.

At the end of the meeting, the minister and the ambassador exchanged souvenirs.
