The Fund for Gross Salaries of Employed Citizens Reaches 127 Billion AMD, Prime Minister

As of July 2020, the gross salary fund for employed citizens in the Republic of Armenia has reached 127 billion 391 million AMD. This is the amount paid to employers, from which income tax has been calculated. This was reported by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted, "The same indicator was 120 billion 846 million AMD in June 2020, while in July 2019 it was 117 billion 627 million AMD. According to revised data, while in July 2019 the gross salary was distributed among 606,465 jobs, in June 2020 there were 609,302 jobs, and in July 2020, the salary fund was shared among 613,062 jobs.

In July 2019, the average salary per job was 193,955 AMD, in June 2020 it was 198,335 AMD, and by July 2020, that figure had risen to 207,795 AMD.

Let me remind you that since April 2020, the government has adopted a series of anti-crisis measures aimed at preserving jobs and preventing a decrease in salaries. These official figures prove that the measures have been effective. I would like to point out that the above-mentioned numbers are based exclusively on the reports submitted by economic entities and these figures are the basis for the tax liabilities of the economic operators.
