This One Can't Be Endured Anymore: Naira Zohrabyan
BHCP Member of Parliament Naira Zohrabyan wrote on her Facebook page: “I had decided not to be surprised or angry at any absurdity anymore. For a long time, my nerves were strong, and even the most degrading stupidity didn’t throw me off balance. I even started to marvel at my own ‘resilience’ as I remained completely indifferent to a series of successive absurdities. But this one simply can’t be endured anymore. No, it definitely can’t be.
School-aged children must sit for several hours in a cramped classroom wearing masks, and during break time, they are prohibited from leaving the classroom and removing their masks. Going to the cafeteria is not allowed, and children must eat food brought from home during the break, which, after sitting in a bag for several hours, turns into poison. I won’t even discuss the serious psychological stress this imposes on children, as after sitting in such ‘concentration camps’ for a few days, they will refuse to go to school, leaving parents feeling like executioners for subjecting their child to such torture.
I also won’t talk about those children who have various respiratory and cardiac issues. I don’t know who I’m addressing this question to, but do you really believe that keeping children locked in a closed classroom for hours with masks on, breathing the stale air of that room and holding children hostage in such an environment, is the best protection against coronavirus? I’ve talked to numerous doctors, and they say that such an environment is an active breeding ground for various infections.
Are you doing this out of spite? I want to believe that it's simply out of ignorance and that there is no malicious intent. But for some reason, sometimes I feel like you are indeed doing it on purpose: it’s like you have an experiment going on to see how much people’s nerves can endure. You seem to want to measure the resistance of citizens' nerves and do whatever you want.
I still don’t know who I’m addressing, but find other solutions. If you can’t find solutions, continue remote learning until the risks of the pandemic are neutralized. Just don’t do this. Measure the amplitude of the people’s patience elsewhere. Leave the children alone.”
