Students Will Attend Classes with Masks, School Will Be 6-Day: Araik Harutyunyan
In schools, students will attend classes wearing masks. This was stated today, August 18, in an interview with Azatutyun by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Araik Harutyunyan.
"You see that we are lifting significant restrictions, essentially restoring the educational process completely, ensuring a large influx of students into schools. Elementary anti-epidemic conditions must be maintained. Questions are being raised about how masks will be handled. Here, we all need to work and explain to parents the necessity of students wearing masks because, under these conditions of restriction easing, masks are the best means of prevention against spread," said Harutyunyan.
Harutyunyan also noted that if classrooms are large, they will be divided to ensure social distancing is possible in the classroom. He also mentioned that instead of a 5-day school week, students will attend a 6-day school.
It should be reminded that today the minister called on students, university students, and parents to limit interactions or self-isolate, if possible, during the period from September 1 to 14.
