Georgia Does Not Plan to Lift Other Flight Restrictions
According to Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze, as of today, flights will remain in the same regime as they are currently. She stated that the government will make decisions based on the spread of the coronavirus in September. This was reported by Aliq.ge.
“This is a global issue, and you know that the statistics about how the coronavirus is spreading in each country are important for us. We make our decisions together with our international partners,” the minister announced.
A few days ago, the Georgian civil aviation office announced that the ban on regular flights in Georgia has been extended until October 1. The restrictions on the implementation of international regular flights do not apply to flights between Tbilisi and the airports in Munich (Germany), Paris (France), and Riga (Latvia); the airlines “Lufthansa,” “AirFrance,” and “airBaltic” will continue to operate.
According to Mariam Kvishvili, head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, over 1,000 tourists entered Georgia from July 22 to August 15.
