Arsen Julfalakyan Proposes Monthly Lifetime Honorarium for Coaches
Member of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction, Arsen Julfalakyan, has presented two proposals for the preliminary version of the 2021 state budget project. In a Facebook post, the MP stated, "To grant a monthly lifetime honorarium to those coaches (national team head coaches and personal coaches) who have prepared Olympic champions and medalists, World Chess Olympiad champions and medalists, as well as world champions in Olympic sports included in the Olympic program and in chess. I have proposed to evaluate each coach's top two achievements and establish the amount of the honorarium based on the sum of these two results. As for the honorarium, I propose the following amounts:
1. For the head coach and personal coach of the Olympic champion national team - 100,000 AMD
2. For the head coach and personal coach of the national team that won 2nd place in the Olympic Games - 70,000 AMD
3. For the head coach and personal coach of the national team that won 3rd place in the Olympic Games - 50,000 AMD
4. For the head coach and personal coach of the World Champion national team - 50,000 AMD.
I believe the acceptance of this proposal will send an important message to the sports world about the significance of the coaching profession in Armenia. It will also provide significant support aimed at improving the social situation of coaches and educators.
Additionally, I propose to allocate a monthly pension to the champions of adult Armenian championships in Olympic sports (individual and team) and chess for one year until the next Armenian championship. I suggest setting the monthly pension at 50,000 AMD.
I believe such an approach will serve as an important incentive, especially for those athletes who have yet to achieve titles and primarily have no other sources of income, allowing them to meet their minimum sports needs to some extent. It will also further enhance the significance of the Armenian championship for athletes.
