Why the Press Conference is Taking Place at 'Harsnakar': Serzh Sargsyan Explains

This was stated today, on August 19, by the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, during a meeting with journalists, answering the question of why the press conference is being held at the 'Harsnakar' restaurant complex.

“Our team discussed in detail the issue of the venue for the press conference when preparing for it. We were well aware that certain individuals would try to make some speculations, blame us for certain matters, criticize us, but our team prioritized the safety of the participants over those criticisms,” said the former president.

Serzh Sargsyan recalled the tragedy that occurred years ago at the complex, which also had political consequences. “There was a public trial, and people faced severe demands. I believe not all authorities and representatives of all political teams are ready to act that way. Our political team’s representative, Ruben Hayrapetyan, resigned from his mandate. Weddings, birthdays, and christenings have been taking place in this establishment for many years. The best way to prevent any crime is to reveal the committed crime and ensure deserving punishment. No other measure has such a significant impact on reducing crime punishment,” he added.
